Who is the quintessential Rendez-Vous girl? You've said she's a "modern mademoiselle"...
She is youthful, feminine, and sexy and has a great sense of style and is interested in expressing herself as an individual.
What were your inspirations for the pieces?
It's a city-inspired collection — stylish with a fresh essence of schoolgirl styling — made for a fresh, young and feminine urban girl.
Tell us how this collaboration came about.
Due to the success of Paul & Joe® Sister at Urban Outfitters in Europe, they contacted us to develop a line exclusively for Urban Outfitters in the United States. Being complementary to each other we create a great mix with the French Parisian touch and the fresh American appeal.
How did you choose the name Rendez-Vous for this line? Is it a nod to relationships, nightlife or... ?
It's a nod to what's most important in life — sharing. When you have a rendezvous, you want to look your best. Whether it's drinks with girlfriends, work, or a date, you're sharing your time and energy with people who are important to you, and your outfit reflects that.
How did you go about bringing the Paul & Joe Sister girl and the Urban Outfitters girl together for this line?
The two "mademoiselles" co-exist and even mélange and swap styles to create a unique way of dressing.
Anything new on the horizon that we should know about?
There's a special collaboration between Paul & Joe and Parisian couturier Pierre Cardin; and the launch of a Paul & Joe music compilation.
Do you have any favorite up-and-coming or new young designers?

Do you have any advice for young designers?
Be open-minded and take chances. You never know where they might lead.
