Last night, I finally saw Revolutionary Road. I thought Kate Winslet was brilliant, but I wasn't impressed with Leonardo's performance. The overall theme of wanting to be someone in this world and not like everyone is jarring and hits a little bit too close to home. I'm 27 and I'm not in the place I thought I'd be. I want to be something more. For Kate's character that meant leaving suburbia and moving to Paris. Again, I have a personal fascination with Parisian lifestyle. Maybe it's a sign that I should go to Paris? And I love the dialogue in this movie. Here are some quotes:
"Hopeless emptiness. Now you've said it. Plenty of people are onto the emptiness, but it takes real guts to see the hopelessness."
"Tell me the truth Frank remember that? We used to live by it. And you know what's so good about the truth? Everyone knows what it is however long they've lived without it. No one forgets the truth Frank they just get better at lying."
"It takes backbone to lead the life you want, Frank."
