Summer Surf City

Great fashion/photo essay from this month's issue of Paper magazine. Photographs by Martin Sanmiguel.
"The greatest results in life are usually attained by simple means and the exercise of ordinary qualities. These may for the most part be summed up in these two — common sense and perseverance." —Owen Feltham

Sølve Sundsbø's lush, otherworldly images aren’t intended for T-shirts. Nonetheless, it works. In what is one of the season’s most interesting collaborations, Mr. Sundsbo, the Norwegian photographer, who has shot ads for Yves Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana and fashion features for Harper’s Bazaar and W, has paired with the creative studio-clothing label Surface to Air on a line of silk tops, dresses and oversize satchels, printed with three of his works. I would define my style as easy breezy and California cool. Now, I'm craving a bit of rock star glam. If I could I would wear flip flops and tanks everyday, but all of a sudden I think I'm channeling M.J. I am loving anything shiny with sequins, beads, studs and of course black. And if I could I would purchase Erin Kleinberg's entire fall 2009 collection. It's the ultimate mix of luxury and comfort. Rock on!

I love this idea... Roberta Jane of Camp Comfort asked several bloggers to create outfits based on a pair of denim shorts. The series is called "How I'd Wear It". It's interesting to see how each person interpreted the same item of clothing. The top image is from Amy of An Apple A Day! and the bottom is from Afton of Freckle Farm.
